Kichton Construction LP is looking for an Automotive Mechanic to join our team in the Fort McMurray area.

Where You’ll Be Working
- Site: Fort Hills
- Schedule: 12-hour days (paid for 11.5 hours). 14 days on, 7 off. 14 nights on, 7 off.
- Accommodations: Camp accommodation is provided.
- Overtime: After 8 hours in a day and after 40 hours in a week
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Review, understand, and follow all safe work practices and procedures.
- Diagnose and repair various types of automotive fleet equipment.
- Complete detailed service and repair reports at the end of each shift.
- Capable of retrieving, decoding, and repairing OBD2 fault codes on vehicles.
- Diagnose and decide if vehicle repairs are warranty or above your scope of repairs.
- Responsible for sourcing part numbers and working with the Parts department to order your parts and filters for repairs.
- Install equipment modifications (example: slip tanks, warning beacons, flood lights, etc.)
- Take oil samples and complete necessary paperwork required to process.
- Complete daily documentation thoroughly, including: FLHAs (Field Level Hazard Assessments), timesheets, pre- and post-inspections of all tools and equipment, and any other paperwork required.
- Report incidents, near misses, equipment damage, and hazards to Supervisors immediately.
- Positively participate in all toolbox talks and all applicable company/site meetings.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Valid Journeyperson Automotive Trade Certificate.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as an Automotive Mechanic in the construction industry.
- Must provide basic tools up to 1-1/4” wrenches and socket sets, including pliers, screwdrivers, hammers, punches, etc.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license (with no restrictions) with own transportation.
- Valid CSTS-2020 & WHMIS 2015 certification (can be provided for free through ACSA).
- Ability to use electronic devices (cell phone) and ability to adapt to new technologies and industry changes.

Working Conditions:
- Fast-paced work environment with long hours (up to 14 hours/day).
- Repetitive bending and lifting (up to 50 pounds).
- Dusty and dirty work environment.
- Work in various weather conditions to boost or repair equipment where it breaks.
