Kichton Construction LP is looking for Grader Operators to join our team in the Fort McMurray area.

Where You’ll Be Working
  • Site: Fort Hills
  • Schedule: 12-hour days (paid for 11.5 hours). 14 days on, 7 off. 14 nights on, 7 off.
  • Accommodations: Camp accommodation is provided.
  • Transportation: Flights are provided to and from Edmonton or Calgary. Bussing provided from Fort McMurray to site (before and after rotation).
  • Overtime: After 8 hours in a day and after 40 hours in a week
 
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Operate various sizes and models of Graders as it applies to civil earthworks
  • Interpret grades, understand plans, drawings and overall construction
  • Ensure compliance to all company, client and legislated safety policies, operating standards and procedures 
  • Using adequate and suitable safety equipment, including PPE
  • Reviewing safe work plans/ hazard assessment with prior to job commencement and follow all requirements
  • Complete equipment/ area walk-arounds, safety checks and field level risk assessments and ensure all equipment is running properly
  • Report any necessary or anticipated repairs to the maintenance team or supervisors immediately
  • Report all incidents, near misses, or damage immediately

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience operating graders
  • Willing and able to work in soft ground conditions (Muskeg)
  • Minimum one year experience in a mining atmosphere preferred
  • Familiar and comfortable working in a production environment
  • Must be able to follow instructions to ensure safe equipment operation
  • A safety-first attitude
  • Attentive and possess strong listening skills
  • Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
  • Have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
