Kichton Construction LP is the Fort McMurray-based heavy civil entity within the Kichton Group of Companies which has been operating since 1963. Kichton Construction LP commenced operations in 2019 as the industrial division of the Kichton Group to serve the Energy and Mining Industries throughout North America. Since inception, KCLP has grown exponentially, starting with 30 experienced team members in 2019, to now over 300 team members and over 300 pieces of heavy equipment. KCLP is proud to continue operating alongside our Community Partner, the Chipewyan Prairie First Nation, as part of our NOHA/Kichton Joint-Venture.
The Role
We are seeking a full-time Payroll Administrator to work out of our Acheson, Alberta office. Reporting to the Payroll Lead, this position provides day-to-day support for payroll processing across multiple legal entities. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for maintaining accurate employee payroll records, processing payroll transactions, responding to employee inquiries, and assisting with payroll administration while ensuring confidentiality and attention to detail. This role works closely with the Payroll Lead to ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time.
Location/Job Details
- Acheson, AB office.
- In office Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day plus OT as required.

Compensation/Benefits
- $60 000 to $70 000 per year, negotiable based on experience.
- Three weeks’ vacation per year.
- Three days for personal time off per year, five paid sick days per year.

Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and processing of bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls for multiple legal entities.
- Review and verify employee timecards, electronic timesheets, and payroll information for accuracy.
- Process new hires, employee changes, terminations, payroll adjustments, and Records of Employment (ROEs).
- Calculate employee earnings, allowances, deductions, and benefit changes.
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records and ensure payroll documentation is complete and up to date.
- Review field timesheets and ensure labour is coded to the appropriate projects and cost codes.
- Respond to employee payroll and benefit inquiries and investigate payroll discrepancies.
- Assist with year-end payroll activities, reporting, audits, and compliance requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee information and payroll records.
- Support the Payroll Lead with payroll administration and other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3 years of payroll experience.
- Experience processing payroll in Alberta is required.
- Construction payroll experience is considered an asset.
- National Payroll Institute PCP designation, or working towards it, is preferred.
- Experience with ERP/payroll systems such as Eclipse or B2W is an asset.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Experience working with multiple legal entities is considered an asset.

Compensation
