Description
Kichton Contracting is seeking a motivated and adaptable individual to join our team. Kichton Contracting Ltd (KCL) has been in business since 1963 and is based out of Acheson, Alberta, Canada. KCL is classified as a medium-sized civil earthworks contractor. Our work ranges from residential earthworks, commercial site development, to industrial projects. Our services include grading design for all types of new commercial and industrial sites along with retrofitting existing sites to accommodate new site development.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Maintain gradebook, as-built drawings, and inventory of materials on site
· Set up, protect, and manage transit
· Understand geodetic elevations, prints, and locates
· Record shots, mentor laborers, and communicate with Pipelayer/Mainliner
· Rig and prep pipes/structures safely
· Prep materials for install and stay ahead of crew
· Build and install manholes, ladder rungs, and F&C per specs
· Report issues to Foreman and maintain communication on site
· Manwatch for excavation as well as confined space activities
- Work in a safe manner, identifying and reporting any hazards
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Out-of-town work may be available
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Must be 18 years of age
- Prior experience as topman/woman
- Strong teamwork skills and positive attitude
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Must be physically fit and able to lift 50lbs unassisted
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Valid CSTS2020 certification (free online course through ACSA)
- Valid ground disturbance certification
- Confined space/fall protection is an asset
Work Schedule:
- Monday to Saturday
- 10–12-hour shifts per day
- Overtime if required
